Children’s health – preparing for a new school year
It’s that time of year – we say goodbye to the summer, the new school terms get underway and, due to season changes and numbers of children grouped together inside, there is an increase in common infections such as coughs, colds and flu. According to the National Centre for Health Statistics, twenty million school days are missed annually due to the common cold.Another factor to consider is the ability to concentrate and learn new things, which is important for most people, but particularly when at school. Childhood is the time when a child’s brain is still developing. Therefore it is a good idea to prepare them for the school year with a little extra nutritional support.
